A couple of weeks ago I went on a trip to Lake Tahoe for one of my best college friends’ bachelorette party. While there was definitely a lot of craziness going on, we also had the opportunity to take in the sheer beauty of the nature around us. In Dallas, unfortunately, I don’t get enough nature in my life and having lived in Israel where I used to go hiking on a regular basis, I really appreciated the time that we spent in Lake Tahoe in nature among the colorful trees and also creating new memories with some of my best friends from college!

Beautiful trees that we came across while driving back to San Francisco
I love fall time, its probably my favorite time of the year. The air is crisp but not too cold, the trees turn incredible colors (well maybe not so much in Dallas, but in New York they do), for you pumpkin spice people, all of that goodness comes out in full force, and most importantly, I get to break out my cute booties and sweaters!
This year I’ve noticed a few trends that I absolutely love! The first being sock booties. I’ve bought two pairs so far, one maroon pair from Zara (see in the photos below) that were only $69, and I have worn about 10 times already! I LOVE them and the are super comfortable! I have paired them with a romper from Free people, see the post My Birthday Suit, for those outfit details, jeans, and also skirts and dresses. Zara has a plentiful variety of them available for reasonable prices (not more than $100), with different sized heels and colors. The entire outfit in the below photos is from Zara and is under $150! (you can find the jeans here for only $29.90 and the top here for only $39.90) I also bought a pair of black sock booties from Forever 21 for only $29.90. I all for a versatile black bootie that I can pair with almost anything for the fall and can carry over to the winter/spring time.

Another fall must have is high wasted denim. I have collected a few colors that are a must have for fall. I bought a black pair at Forever 21 for only $9.90! Or you can opt for a more expensive option such as these from Madewell for $128 or Rag and Bone for $198. I paired it with an off the shoulder body suit from Forever 21 for only $14, because it was so hot outside, but if it were a chilly night I would pair it with a bomber jacket, such as this furry one from Free People, or leather jacket like the one I found at Zara for only $69!
I am also loving this loafer trend! It’s kind of funny, because my whole life my mother has worn Cole Haan penny loafers and I would say a good 95% of the time I have always given her a hard time about them. I went home the other day and wore my black Steve Madden loafers (which are now on sale for only $76!) and she goes, HM those kind of look familiar and like something I would wear. Let’s just say, we have VERY different style so it was funny to hear that coming from her and even more funny that I was wearing something that was reminiscent of her dreadful penny loafers 😉 . The loafer trend, comes in two types , the one without the heel, more like a slipper or mule, and the one with the heel. The Gucci loafers (and these are the more classic style) are particularly trendy now, one day I will be able to afford a pair! 🙂 Even though the Gucci ones can get pretty expensive, there are SO many inexpensive brands out there that look almost identical to the Gucci ones.
These are just a few of my favorite fall things! More fashion favorites will be coming in my next fashion post so be sure to be on the lookout for it!
